OK, Daleks in Manhatten. My initial reaction was 'meh...' but I like the look of part 2 so fully expect to upgrade my 'meh...' to an 'ooooooo!!!!!'.

Look back at the classic series... part one of anything tends to be a but 'meh'. I liked the Soloman character a lot... and loved the 'Hogrons'.

I quite liked it but it will be interesting to see how long it takes for the other Cult of Skaro members to turn on Sec and zap him for tainting his Dalek DNA with that of a Human, violating their laws of genetic purity.

No tentacle jokes please, Keith.......

About forty minutes this Saturday is my guess. About the same amount of time it'll take for the Doctor to mount a desperate appeal to the one small part of him that still remains human.

Meh....

I think the problem is that I LOVE evil Daleks. Daleks should have no redeeming qualities. They should try to take over the galaxy in ingenious ways, kill lots of innocent people, get foiled by the Doc and escape in the nick of time, twiddling their metaphorical moustaches.

I haven't enjoyed all this 'finding their inner human' idea at all... sorry

It was the writer who got it wrong in my humble opinion, that would have been more believable than what was served up. First part was promising but the second just fell apart for a variety of reasons, mainly dreadful plotting. Yeah, kill my arse says the Doctor. Most convincing!

... and as for Dalek Sek (complete with Will-iam Sha-tner impersonation) looking like he was the Great Cthulhu going to a fancy dress party as Noel Coward.

I was disappointed.
