El Presidente wishes to make it known that he has reached the fine, upstanding age of 30.
Let there be celebration and merriment throughout the land.
Let cake be consumed and gifts of generous proportions sent.
(Anyone who does not send a gift will be hunted down. El Presidente knows where you all live and has eyes everywhere.
Passing on an unwanted Christmas present is not enough and the punishment for such an act will be even more extreme.)
Rejoycing will begin at once.

May I pass on my congratulations to Our Dear Leader and chief scientist at Staggering Stories.May his bed-chamber be filled with nubile virgins,his bank balance full of embezzled cash from the IMF and may the contents of a thousand camels bladders rain down upon him by way of Allah bestowing his divine light upon him.
All this I say and more as I want to avoid hearing a knocking on my door at 2 in the morning,being taken to his sumptuous palace and being hung up and beaten across the soles of my feet with electrical cable by his ...associates.

Thank you one, thank you all. You make an old (benevolent) dictator proud. I'm particularly glad I don't need to send my 'celebration squad' to round up my ministers for a special party...
There's only one problem with getting old:
My magnificence on the last day of being 29:
A day later on my 30th birthday (as opposed to my 'official birthday' in June):
Dread to think what will happen when I reach 40..! Where are those slave girls with their massaging oils..?
