Yep, that's really sad news (though hardly unexpected - he looked very ill in a recent DVD).

Another titan of the old series is gone.

He always came across as a thoroughly decent chap and proud of his work on Doctor Who (as he rightly should have been).

A big loss to the Doctor Who community.

Farewell to a true gentleman of the old school. He will be sorely missed. At least we can celebrate a mountain of cracking productions that he's been in charge of.
It's nice to be important, but it's important to be nice.
